Over 60+ years of shooting revolvers I have tried to find N frame stocks that fit me. The K & L frame target stocks are perfect for me but nothing I've found for a N frame works. Factory targets are too big and anything with finger grooves won't work for me.

My latest problem is getting a proper grip on a 625 Mountain Gun with the round butt. Before I try the custom makers, does anyone have a suggestion for N frame stocks that feel like K frame targets? BTW, I'm a shooter, not a collector.

Eagle's Heritage grips are decent coke style reproductions. I'm happy with the set I have on my 57 Mountain Gun.

Herrett's "Shooting Star" stocks work great for my medium size hands. I've bought all of mine used from various forums or ebay. High quality. Great fit.

A few options here all varying in cost.

The Herrett roper stocks are some of my favorite production stocks for both K and N frames

The vintage fitz "combat" stocks if you can track a pair down.

Any of the "LAPD" grip makers might suit you well - Hogue, Farrant, Hurst, etc.

If you're willing to put up the cash and/or wait it out - any set of Spegels

Have you seen these?
Just a moment...

Look at the N rounds....

Check out the Altamont Grip website. They offer "Roper" target stocks for the N round frame. These grips are thinner in the curve circumference, working well for those with smaller hands. Pic of a set on my Mod. 18. The N frame version offers the same thinner profile as the K's.

I've been looking at the Altamont site for months and all their wood grips keep showing "Temporarily Unavailable". Whatever the hell that means?

It means that they won't be available for a little while. :)

But the RB he is looking for are.

Thanks for everyone's input. Lots of good ideas.
BTW, Altamont also sells on ebay and has some grips there that aren't available on their website.

Try Culina. They make very nice grips, and are a pleasure to deal with! Another option is the "magna" grip with a grip adapter. I prefer BK grip adapters.

Another fan of the Herett Shooting Stars.

I ordered a set of Altimonts for a different gun a couple of months ago. They sent back an e-mail saying 1-3 week wait. I did get them 3 weeks later.
