SUPERBOWL PREDICTIONS

I agree that would like to see Manning go out
on top....if he goes out.
Superman Cam is a big linebacker with a rocket arm.
Speaking of linebackers...Vonn Miller could be a game changer.

TE G. Olsen.. 2 TD's....Cam will run in 2.

Panthers by 10...
38+ point scored.

The Panthers' major fault has been taking their foot off the gas in the second half.

They didn't do that in Sunday's game against the Cardinals, and it was something to see. There's a difference between beating someone and just stomping someone. The Panthers stomped the Cardinals for the whole game. It was pitiful, just pit-tee-full. I almost felt sorry for Carson Palmer, but Bruce Arians is such a jerk, all feelings of sympathy for the Cardinals quickly vanished.

I wouldn't want to have been Palmer today. He may do better in the future, but he'll never forget yesterday's butt-whuppin'.

Y'all can say what you want about Cam Newton. I used to couldn't stand the guy, myself. Poked fun at him every chance I got. But he's come a long way in five years. Arrogant? Maybe. Show off? For sure. A good quarterback? No. He's turned himself into a great quarterback. He's fun to watch. All Pro, and he'll be MVP.

Newton's also turned himself into one of the greatest running quarterbacks. He's 6'6" and at least 255 pounds. Would you want to tackle him? No other QB in the league is doing what he's doing.

I'm picking the Panthers. Not cause they're the hometown team. I think they're the better team. It'll be a hard game, I think, but the Panthers'll win in the end, and Peyton Manning can resume his new career as an insurance salesman.

Denver will NEED to score more than 21 points to win.
Or it could be a long day for the Broncos.

My prediction: Denver 32
Carolina 28
Manning calls it quits following the game. All is right in the world.

One team will win. There will be at least one outlandish call by the one of the refs. There will be some idiotic politically correct extravaganza at half time. The citizens will be charmed and entertained, and without throwing a single Christian to the lions.

Hundreds of millions of dollars will be spent and made by various entities. People will talk and argue about it for days.

Then we will wait a year and do it all over again with different participants.

History Lesson

Two things come to mind:

A week ago EVERYONE was saying there was NO WAY the Broncos defense could shut down the GREATEST QB Tom Whatshisname. Hmmm?

Two years ago, the high flying Broncos offense got hammered by the #1 Seahawks defense. :( Roles are now reversed.

Offense wins divisions - Defense wins championships. Just sayin'.

I guess that was three things.

I agree with most of the above. However, I'd like to see PM go out a winner...

If Manning "went out a winner", chances are he wouldn't go out at all. Someone would convince him he has another season to run and could go into the record books (again) as The Oldest Quarterback To Do This and That. He'd probably end up getting crippled for life or suffer an early death from brain damage. Better for him to take his whuppin' on February 7 and make his exit while he can still walk off the field. Seriously, I'd hate to see him get hurt...and with the Panthers, that possibility definitely exists.

Carolina looks like one of those special teams you see every once in awhile, destined to win it all, like the 85 Bears.

They very well may be special. Lots of people seem to think so, including the team. And don't forget, Panthers coach Ron Rivera played on that '85 Bears team as a linebacker. Ditka's been a huge influence on Rivera.

Going to go with Carolina on this one. Let's say 28-21

Rivera has done an amazing job and he has the team to do it. Just don't think Denvers D matches up as well against the Panthers Offense.
The Rivera Bears mojo is part of the deal for me too, though. Saw him play many times

There is a possibility that the game will be played in the rain because of El Nino. The Super Bowl could become The Mud Bowl. The team that can play best in mud could be a deciding factor.

Comparing Russell Wilson to Payton Manning is like comparing a Rambler to a Corvette!!

You are right, and Wilson is the Corvette. The pup Newton will stifle the Denver defense and put an aXX whupping on the Bronco's, and the Carolina defense will bust up Manning (not too bad I hope). Panthers 45 Denver 17

I can give you the score before the game even starts. It will be 0 to 0. Than's before it starts. I now bow out, because whomever I choose as my favorite always looses and I don't want to effect the game. My home team is the Vikings. What does that tell you!!??

Well as a New England Patriots fan, I was hoping it would be us against the Panthers. Had that been a reality, I would have still thought that Carolina would have won the Superbowl.

They only lost one game all season and in the rematch last weekend, they kicked some serious butt.

A running quarterback adds a whole different dimension to a game. Brady and Manning both had one run for a first down. Cam had runs for two rushing touchdowns IIRC.

The Patriots O line was like a screen door on Sunday and the Broncos only won by 2 points.

My prediction is that Carolina will win by several touchdowns and that Peyton will hang up his cleats after the game.

Remember that you read it here first. ;)

After watching both teams Sunday, and Carolina the week before, I'll have to go with Carolina by at least 2 scores. Denver's defense is outstanding, but I believe that they will get tired out both by the Panthers' ability to sustain long drives and by the Denver offense's inabilityto do so. The latter may be able to do a little better if the Carolina linebacker who broke his arm can't play or play his best(How can one break one's arm and play again in two weeks??). Kuechly is outstanding, but it appears to me that the combination of he and Davis is what really makes their defense great.

P.S. I have a solution to the hype and run-up to the game the next two weeks which works for me every year: I don't read about it, listen to it, or watch it. I also don't watch the halftime show. Makes things more enjoyable. But then maybe some have family members around who insist on taking a bunch of that in, and you can't escape it. Hang in there.

My prediction is that me and the Cowboys will be watching from some sports bar that sells hotwings! Be the closest they will come this year to seeing a game.

Not a mention for the halftime 🎉 extravaganza?
Maybe a wardrobe mafunction, lip synched 🙊 bad word because no one is actually singing, but cameras will see! Maybe another power failure? Food 🍔 virus outbreak with vender food, creating a run on the restrooms! Superbowl trophy turns up missing before presentation?
Lots of possibilities with the main focus of this event! ✌

Hope Peyton 🐴 gets a 2nd ring and then retires with grace, but believe Panthers 🐆 have the best team in the NFL 💰 this year!

I have heard all the Manning bashers when he had neck surgery and was let go by Indy. Everyone said he's done. He was picked up by the Broncos and set all his records. Then he is injured again and was replaced. Of course everyone said he's done. He comes back and leads his team to an AFC title.
Now we here again that he can't win. I say the quarterback position is played with their brains as much as their speed. And no one has played this position as well as Manning.
If the rest of the team has the same heart as their quarterback, they can win. And it doesn't hurt to have the top ranked defense in football!;)

THIS COULD BE A GAME CHANGER

Given 1st choice the Bronco's have elected to go against convention & wear their away game white colors! :(:( When your defense's nickname is ORANGE CRUSH, what were they thinking?
May as well rename the Denver stadium back to mile high since the most important piece of tailgating equipment is a bong. This is really bumming my head man.

A DEAR JOHN LETTER.

Dear John Elway, over my many years in the NFL I've held you in the highest of regards, now for perhaps the first time I have something negative to say about you. You just made the biggest bonehead decision of your Mgt career! When our defense got us here to the big show, it sure wasn't our passing & catching, you insult/ demoralize not only our defense (the ORANGE crush), but our loyal fans who have sold out every game for decades & when they dress up they ain't wearing white, not to mention the advertisers & orange being our brand recognition colors. How about coming out of retirement just one time & throw me this bone? It is now too late for me to change the color schemes for my Pizza joint SB advertising. Just because your horse teeth prevented you from being a walking billboard, why take it out on me? What about me John? I've been busting my butt with these old surgically repaired bones for far too long. When do I get to ride off into the sunset after a Superbowl win? Regards Peyton Manning. PS expect a letter from VM next.
