The NY metro area of 20 million people at 8pm last night had mostly deserted roads.
The toll plaza for the George Washington bridge had 2 cars on it. The Cross Bronx expressway was wide open. Only 4 cars in sight on the Throgs Neck bridge.
It's a presumption, but I'd guess people are staying home because of the virus.

My youngest self isolated on Tuesday with all of the symptoms (work/school @nyu) She’s getting the runaround on being tested this morning

I'd hope folks will pay attention to what is happening and limit unnecessary travel.
I still believe if everyone of us uses a little common sense and doesn't panic everything should work itself out.

Ran by my local Food Lion this A.M. to pick up a few veggies for dinner. Folks were in panic buying mode; I see no need for that, as any smart shopper always keeps a decent supply basic supplies on hand.

Best to all:),
Fred

Zip, hope things turn out well and you're back home soon.

Old Bear is right. Take necessary precautions. Be smart, don't panic and this thing will eventually work out. This isn't the first time there's been a major pandemic and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Our son-in-law just got back the other night from a business trip to Mexico. His boss notified him to stay home and do his work from the house until this thing is over. Probably a smart move.

Take care everybody and be safe.

My son works for a very large orthopedic surgical device company and he travels the country doing technical support and product training. Last week his company ordered all their field personnel to stand down and stay home until mid-June. The largest orthopedic surgical conference in the U. S. was to have been held in Orlando March 24-28. It was cancelled. I think this shows what the medical community believes about the seriousness of COVID-19.

The X Bronx is never wide open even at 3am

Best wishes on your surgery today.

I'm just here for cancer surgery this afternoon at Sloan Kettering, then I'm heading back to SC, God willing.

I was at the hospital Tuesday having a modified herpes cold sore virus injected directly into 3 stage 4 tumors.

Cancer has been after me for 10 years and we just keep killing it.

You'd think it would have given up by now. ;)

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and Prayers. 13 years after a "terminal" diagnosis, I'm a huge believer in Prayer's power, and can't thank you fine folks enough for the kindness you've shown.
5 more tumors removed and the Doc thinks it went well. Hopefully I'll be southbound soon.
