SV M&P - Note of interest

Jack, VS813414 is real, in my opinion. I have seen and examined this gun about 5 yrs. ago. It's in ( or was ) the collection of a S&WCA member. The V and the S stamps, on the butt, are the correct size factory stamps, and very slightly out of line with each other, indicating the two letters were not stamped at the same time. 6 in. barrel, Blued gun w/o a butt swivel. Ed.

Wonderful, Ed!
Thank you very much.
Is it possible that you could ask the owner to contact me so I can mine a little bit of info about this revolver?
I should tell you that I'm leaving for Eastern Europe on Tuesday and won't be back until the 19th. I don't think I will be on line for most of that time.
Jack

Was it factory lettered? Any pictures available? By "w/o a butt swivel," does that mean a plugged swivel hole or no swivel hole?

DWalt, The swivel hole in the butt was factory plugged. Jack, I'll see the owner in a couple weeks and find out if he still has the gun, and take it from there. I don't think he ever lettered the gun, but I'll find out. I have a color printer copy of an online photo of the gun's butt showing the serial number, VS813414, in my files, that I must have made sometime ago, but I didn't date it. Ed.
