SW Model 610 Ammo Suggestions / Brass not ejecting well

I recently purchased a SW Model 610 revolver (10mm / 40sw). The 40sw functions fine. I used Armscor 180gr 10mm brass, and it was extremely difficult to remove the brass from the cylinder after firing. I later tried Blazer Brass 180gr and it was easily removable. The cylinder is almost a flush fit with the cartridge. I checked and the spent Armscor brass expanded .004" more than the Blazer brass did.

Does anyone have ammo suggestions (brand, case material, grains, etc.) or ones to avoid that I can use so I would not run into this issue. Preferably target ammo, but will take hunting/defense ammo suggestions. Prefer to ask on here vs spending $$$ on testing ammo.

Thanks,

New. 40s eject and enter fine. 10mm gets slightly snug towards the primer of the round. But after fired they are difficult to eject. The armscor ones anyway

Sometimes ammo is just different dimensions did you measure it by chance ? Are the chambers clean ? You could polish a little but not too much if sticky and you want to shoot armscor watch a few good videos before you try.

It may be a QA/QC problem. I bought two bricks of Armscor .22 LR just before the 2009 ammo drought. It had persistent extraction problems in all action types. I emailed their customer service and they offered me the choice of replacement or refund. I took the refund, but appreciated their attitude. A friend had the polar opposite experience with the "old" Remington and 9mm that arrived in an undamaged box but seating depths all over the board. Can't hurt to ask.

Sometimes chambers run on the small side if you really want to shoot a particular ammo with tight chambers you have to open them up to accommodate

I'm not familiar with Armscor loaded ammo, but I did buy a bunch of their 230 grain 45 ACP bullets during the 2008-2016 shortage. I checked them and found issues with variations in diameter and concentricity. In your situation, it could be the quality of Armscor's brass that is the issue.

Just a thought- did you shoot the 40 first then the 10mm? If so, similar to shooting 38s in 357s, you may have some crud build up from the 40s that impact the 10mm. If so, a good cleaning of the cylinder with some elbow grease may work. Again, just a thought

If Armscor ammo is the only brand that is giving you problems just don't shoot anymore Armscor.

Expanding .004" more than the Blazer sounds like the Armscor is overloaded.
If Blazer brass shoots fine it would seem like an ammo problem with the Armscor, not a problem with your cylinder.

I've used Winchester 165gr, Armsco, Blazer and Federal 180gr with no issues.

The first thought that came to my mind.....

So it is the ammo. I did a full moon clip of Blazer and it extracted without any resistance. The armscor works well in my kimber over magtech that I have tried before. Armscor does well in 9mm too. I was just wondering if anyone had ammo suggestions before I start buying multiple types to see what would and would not work. Definitely not a build up issue, or new or shooting issue. Thanks for the input!
