Hello guys,
just a fast question - I am looking at this model 13-3 and there is on the side this number "527", any idea please where the gun might have "served"? It would be hard I know, I just thought I will ask.
Thank you very much.

BTW the guy wants to sell it for cca 450 dollars which, after swift search here, seems to be a pretty nice deal.

If you don't want it I'll take it OP! That's a fine Revo... With a pair of proper grips its a life keeper/shooter! I have no Revolvers with barrels longer than 3 inches because they carry & shoot so very well! YMMV...

Without more to go on, unless someone here has its cousin, I doubt you'll get an answer.

You could pay the $75.00 for a factory letter, and hope it tells you what dept. ordered it.

The 13-3 is one of my favorite carry guns - here is mine...

For $450.00, I'd say it a definite "Buy it!"

Have fun,

Very likely a department inventory number from the organization that owned it. $450 is an excellent price and you can make up any story you like about the 527 :).

$450 is a great price in my area, I recently picked up 3" 13-4 that had some blueing loss on the left side for $425. I would jump on it for that price. Here's a pick of my 3" 357's too.

I recently let a lnib 13-3 3" slip through my fingers because I was trying to bust the guy down from $1000. He never budged and someone else bought it. Now my life is filled with regret every single day :(

Buy that gun and don't look back!

I can tell you that you should shoot that revolver with the grips shown in your picture. They may not be too stylish, but for me, they fit my hand very well and allow a very good shooting grip that's comfortable during firing! This is one of my favorite revolvers! The asking price is a great one outside of California, so I'd say it is an excellent one there, as long as it checks out well mechanically.

The matt finish on the frame probably isn't helping the value any from a collector perspective. However, it isn't giving anything up as a shooter and if I saw it for $450, I'd have my checkbook out on the spot.

Here is my 13-3, showing its time carried:

IMHO, 3" is the perfect length for a concealed carry .357 Magnum and the only thing better than a 3" Model 13 would be a 3" Model 65.

What do you think I could get for this model 13 no dash? I'm thinking of letting it go.

The good news is it looks to be nice condition. A slight minus is the somewhat odd red front insert and the fact there is no model 13 no dash - they may have just missed getting the full stamp on it. It is most likely a 13-3.

So call it about $600-650.

I just "loaned" my Model 13-3 to my son-in-law. It was my primary carry for over 20 years.

Hello guys, thank you for your replies and support.
I was talking to the owner, he said that the revolver is about 30 years old and comes from some English agency....i.e. SW export to England.
I will check what English agency was using SW 13.
I have 64-5 (3 inch bull barrel), shot it few days ago, It alway blows my mind how great it shoots 8-0. ;-), therefore SW13 caught my attention.
Thank you.

Murphydog,

You Sir are correct. I took another look (wearing my glasses this time) and it is indeed a 13-3.

I've got the stainless cousin mod 65 marked BRPD (Baton Rouge) I wear it a lot working around my little farm and don't have to worry about the finish getting messed up. Wipe it off after a hot day. The 3" is just right for riding the tractor or zero turn mower.
