SW22 Victory Issues

Seems like every other week somebody is complaining about their 22 victory.
I know I have no desire ever to buy one. Especially when you have to iron out the wrinkles to get one to do what it's supposed to do in the first place when you first bought it.
JMHO

I too had the same ejection issues and not feeding right out of the box. Bought brand new 3/4/2022, shipped it back 3/8 and still waiting after 4 weeks. I also have a Mk IV 22/45. I much prefer the grip angle of the Victory. I plan to sell the 22/45 and get the Mk IV target or tactical that has the regular style grip.

Smith semi autos 22's seem to be a hit or miss proposition, and, I assume, due the relatively light recoil, relatively ammo sensitive. Some Victory handguns and some Model 41's have their teething problems. I and my friends have enjoyed shooting the still available S&W 22S and 22A.

>>Not being mean, but trade it on a Buckmark or Ruger MK4 and your problem goes away<<

And that's exactly what I did! The early ones (and maybe later too) had the issue of having to tweak the ejector "just right" for it to do its thing. Mine got promptly traded off toward some Ruger MK or another. Have now switched over to Browning Buckmarks.

SW22 Victory Eject Issues Out of The Box

Picked up the gun at my local Rural King last night and right out of the box it fails to eject and load properly. S&W you know there's a problem so why continue selling this gun only for 445.00 later a customer is left hanging. Best paper weight I've ever owed. Unbelievable.

Welcome aboard!

You might try giving the gun a thorough cleaning and lubing the slide rails. I use grease. You might also try other brands of .22 LR’s.

My wife and I have older Buckmark Target pistols. When we shot bullseye years ago, hers was as reliable and accurate as my modified Hi Standard. She came close to making me look bad occasionally.
No longer do bullseye, but I put a 2X Leupold on mine and it's a great shooter. Don't know what the new ones are like, but ours are great pistols.
