SW99 racegun theory

I really want to make my .40 cal into a racegun but have no idea where to start any advice or thoughts?

Sir, "racegun" equals "pricey" regardless of platform. It's not the base gun that makes it expensive.

A base 1911 (Springfield GI or Mil-Spec or Rock Island etc)will cost no more than your SW99. But you will be able to get race gun parts off the shelf, and the whole project will be cheaper and more than likely you will be more satisfied in the end.

lol yeah i hadn't thought about the 1911's part availibility just saw the base price and said well I already own a killer pistol so....
I wish the wife would let me get a wilson combat protector, now thats a .45

The great thing about the 1911 is everybody and their cousin makes parts for it. Buy a plain Jane base gun and customize as you can afford it. Everybody needs at least one 1911. I own or have owned the 38 Super, 9mm, 10mm, 45ACP, and .22 LR versions and am contemplating building a .40S&W. You can even start with just the frame from a number of sources ( Caspian/Foster is a good place to start)and build it a piece at a time. Once you buy the frame, which according to the law is "the gun", the remainder of the parts can be ordered as you need or can afford them.
