Looking to buy another 9mm soon as is my little brother. Is it safe to shoot lead reloads out of this gun?

Yes.

But they do NOT recommend shooting lead out of a Glock, due to the type of bore rifling.

I knew it wasn't recommended in a Glock (I have a g27 and plan on buying an after market barrel when I start reloading for .40). I just wanted to make sure it was safe in the 9ve before buying.

Thank you.

Also which is a "better" gun, the sd9 or the 9ve?

That question can get you in trouble on this forum!

The trigger of the SD generally gets better reviews -- not as long, a lighter pull, and a little smoother (the actual design is a little different). The tradeoff is the difference in price. I think it is worth going for the SD9 -- the most underrated pistol in the marketplace, other than perhaps the Sig SP2022 -- but that is just one man's opinion.

So I can't really give you "advice" on which one to get -- although if you get along fine with your Sigma trigger, you'll love the SD9's trigger. But here is some good advice -- go to a gun store and fondle both the SD and the Sigma, pulling the trigger on each a couple of times, and decide which you are more comfortable with!

I have a 9VE but if I had your money :D I would probably opt for the SD. The SD is "probably" a better pistol. That is, if cost has anything to do with quality.

I like my sigma, but I have also personalized it by changing just about every spring in it, as well as polished every friction point. I have also polished the chamber ramp to almost mirror finish. Basically, what it amounts to is adding power steering and disc breaks to a great running car. I just finished firing off a box or rounds and I can about snap shoot this thing, knocking down 8" metal disks at 35' now. I have not yet fired off a thousand rounds, but the several hundred I have fired, have resulted in NO/NO failures. I have been firing the cheapest ammo I can find and it eagerly gobbles them up with no complaint. I bet that as soon as my new Hi-Viz sight arrives, my shooting will even improve more. My eye sight has kind of degenerated in my 60+ years. :(
