I have just bought this pistol. As known, it has no safety. I feel the only way to carry is without a round chambered. have to cycle and then be properly loaded. Any different thoughts than this. I appreciate any comments.

You need to educate yourself on 'striker fired' handguns and their inherent safety designs. Your handgun is designed to be carried safely with a round chambered. Just don't pull the trigger unless you absolutely mean so. You are severely handicapping yourself in a self-defense situation carrying a handgun without a round in the chamber. ......

The only way to carry it safely is in a holster that completely prevents touching the trigger, until the pistol is drawn.

The pistol, by design, is safe to carry with a chambered round, if the holster covers the trigger.

Carrying the pistol with an empty chamber forces assumptions--that you'll have time to chamber a round, and that you'll have both hands available, to rack the slide and chamber a round.

You know what they say about 'assuming'.

1. This firearm is the same as a DA revolver as far as it's operation and safety. carrying it with a round in the chamber is the same as carrying a modern DA revolver with a fully loaded cylinder. the striker will only release with the trigger fully depressed. It is ment to be handled as if it were a magazine fed DA revolver. Simple.

This^^

I have several modern S&W revolvers and one GP100. IMO the striker fired semis are the safety equivalent of old K frame police weapons. The long travel heavy pull trigger is the safety. Your holster must cover the trigger. I carry my Model 10 loaded in a holster.

I've just bought a SD9VE as a HD/truck gun and now need to find a suitable holster for it.

you might look into Alien Gear holsters, I just got one and like it a lot. It's made to fit the gun specifically, lifetime warranty, adjustable cant (angle) adjustable retention ( the pressure holding the gun securely). Should you change guns, you can swap the outer hard shell to a new one to fit your new gun (you can either swap out for free, or if you want to keep the one you already have, just by a new shell for the new gun)....If you check out their web site, they have many different styles, for most all popular guns. They have both IWB and OWB holsters, etc. I chose the Cloak Mod OWB, because it suited my needs especially well, great concealment, very secure carry! (I also ride an HD, and concealment is very critical, especially since I'm in Massachusetts.)
