T&K Customs 9mm conversion cylinder

Smith Wesson 940

Got a 940 9mm Centennial. Lead bullets tumble. Jacketed shoot fine. Not a fun little gun to shoot, always wanted one though! His brothers in .38 and .357 are more fun to shoot!

I have a 929 and a 547. I definitely shoot my 929 more than the 547. Moonclips make that possible.
The 547 is a good gun. As long as the extractors tabs are in good working order. I had a chance to inspect two 547's at the same time, and I chose the one that held the snapcaps better, so I would check that if I could.

Well I'd definitely test a 547 with snap caps before accepting the transfer since I'm gonna have to go to gunbroker for this. I don't think that matters so much with them though since the case still headspaces on the mouth of the chamber and the extractor finger just pushes it out during extraction.

Have had the S&W 940 and two LCRs in 9mm and both locked up when using +P ammo. Also have a 547 but have never run +P in it.

Is the 547 even rated for +P?

Not that it really matters, I pretty much just keep standard 115gr and 124gr on hand.

Steelslayer,

Would you be interested in doing another 22tcm? It’s a really neat cartridge. Does yours use moon clips? Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Pinkerton OUT!

Yes, mine uses moon clips. As 22TCM case heads are smaller then 9mms, I modified a couple TKC 9mm moon clips. Used a slitter disk on a Dremel to cut down the center of each arm then formed them in a little bit so they would grip the TCMs. Very hard extraction, but has not bulged the stop notches

I don't shoot mine much and I don't think it is a smart conversion as the pressure is to high for a K frame cylinder. The 22 Jet and the 22 Harvey Kay chuck are much better. I reamed and recessed a K22 cylinder and it fits in the same frame as my 22 Harvey. A model 10, fitted with adjustable sights and a K22 barrel.

Mostly it was an experiment. I use a Rock island 1911 9mm/22TCM to fire the round now
