I have a number of 19-3 and 66-1
I’ve heard that recessed cylinders cannot be converted to hold moon clips?
Can I use a non-recessed cylinder for a 66 – one or 19-3 to be converted to 9 mm?
I just need an extra cylinder and there are plenty online for sale.
I’m not really looking to get a new 9mm revolver.
Want to shoot 9 mm from my 66.
Any tips??

Thanks

I would look 1st for a donor cylinder plus the entire crane assembly if possible. Since you are talking K-frames the Gunsmithing forum here might just deliver better and more experienced info...?

Good Luck! & Cheers!

You could use a non-recessed cylinder, but unless you change the cylinder frame lug, it would have fore-aft play when the cylinder is open. A lot of .455's were shaved for .45LC or ACP, creating this situation. The play when open would only be the thickness of the case head. Not a big deal.
