I’m wanting to get a cylinder re-chambered for 9 mm, But I don’t want to use the cylinders that came with any of my guns.
I’m probably looking to get a 27 and a 19 cylinder so I can shoot 9 mm.
I got in touch with TK custom.
They said it’s not really a good idea to use a used cylinder that isn’t original to the gun, But I’ve had fairly good luck with Parts fitting in revolvers I have, Even if not all of them.
The Extra model 53 cylinder I found fit like a glove in my model 53.
Since I have six K frame magnums and 7 N frame mags, I figure if I get used cylinders for a K and an N, Even if a cylinder doesn’t exactly fit One or two, it’ll fit another? Hopefully.
It’s also not a whole ton of expense to find out that it fits none.
I would definitely make sure that the timing, lock up and gap were good first And use the cylinder in the gun it fits best, even if the Cylinder is in a blue, nickel or stainless gun.

Any advice??
Thanks

Should work, but may need some adjustment. I have found the end shake or not enough of it to be the biggest problem. It can be dealt with so both cylinders work on the same yoke by putting shims in the one with the deepest center hole. But, it is better to have 2 separate yokes. I have made a couple K 38 cylinders into 9mm.

Some K frames had the gas ring on the yoke, but I don't believe that happened until after the 19-3, but even then keeping each cylinder with its original yoke is the way to go.

On the 27 you could also use a 28 cylinder, but who makes 6 shot N frame clips????? I guess you could have some water jet cut from spring steel, but why not buy a 9mm N frame cylinder? There is a good chance the hand will work despite the change in number of chambers
