I took the rear take down pin out and damaged the case. I did not know that pin was not suppose to take the pin out. I drove it out and damaged my housing. I really don't know what to do now. So bummed!

Send it to S&W and tell them it fell out.

Yea, lie to S&W. They'll believe every word of it. :)

Hopefully S&W will replace the lower, but since the damage was user-caused, don't be surprised if you have to pay for it. Just know that the lower IS the firearm, as far as the feds are concerned. Replacing the lower will involve new paperwork with the store you bought the rifle from.

It helps to read the section in the manual about field stripping.

Will not lie!

I am not going to lie about it. sheez. Besides that pin would not have fell out I should have known, and your right it pays to read the instructions. I really need to be reprimanded right now. Thanks

I've yet to meet anyone (in my 60 some years),that hasn't done something "stupid" (for lack of a better word),including myself. Down the road you'll be able to look back and laugh at it. We all do something "stupid" sooner or later. It's just a part of life. So call the Mothership and tell them you have a problem and find out how to get it fixed. :D stuff happens...

We can't really give an opinion without pics. Take it to your local lgs first and see what they say. Worst case scenario it costs you a few bucks and some shooting time.

No worries.:)
