Only thing I don't like is the taps on MSC are -NS, the tap on the chart are -NC. I'm not sure what that means.

National Fine (NF)
National Extra Fine (NEF)
National Special (NS)
It gets confusing. On the linked chart note 9/16-24 UNEF, UNEF (Unifieid National Extra Fine) which used to be NEF (National Extra Fine). Then there's 9/16-32 UN. UN is a thread form where the pitch is constant regardless of bolt diameter. A UN-32 bolt has 32 tpi regardless of diameter. A UNEF has differing tpi's depending on diameter. A 1/4-32 UNEF is also 1/4-32 UN for instance. In MSC's catalog they're showing 9/16-32 as NS (National Special), go figure, it gets confusing.Originally posted by shovelwrench:

Thanks,
Funny though, I find it hard to call 32 pitch
coarse thread.
DCB,
Keep us posted.
