There's a guy selling a target model made around 1930 in what looks like ex. shape. 38 special. S&W red front sight. Wants 650 firm. Sounds high?

It's on a web sight called Armslist Wi. That's the best I can do.

I found it on the site. That is a pretty nice looking 1905 4th change target. I'm no expert on grips but the grips alone could be worth a few hundred. Looks to me like a nicely taken care of old target model. With a King front sight!!!! I would buy it immediately!!!!!!!!

Took a peak, if it's not rebuled it's worth double the asking price. Provided it's mechanically sound. Considering u outed it here it's probably gone now. The king accessory are sought after by collectors. Good luck go get it.

ANY M&P Target in "ex. shape" at less than $1,000 (ON UP---depending on how "ex. shape") is a STEAL. A "STEAL" is defined as if you want it, you damn well better buy it before one of the brethren snatches it right from under your nose. It's worth noting the amount one must pay for "ex. shape" doesn't make any difference whatsoever. What makes a difference is whether you get it or go without.

Needless to say, what is/is not "ex. shape" is in the eye of the beholder---so behold with a measure of care----critical care.

Thanks guys. If not sold I will go look at it. If sold it's not a big deal as I'm more into M1's and carbines.

That price is in the "too good to be true" category. I'd be wary of a scam.
I recently contacted an Armslist seller about an older Winchester he had listed for a too good to be true price. The location in the ad was a near by town so I inquired about getting together for a look see. Sellers response was that he was no longer in the area, living in Florida, but he could ship the gun up to me here in Pa for me to look over if I was interested. I dropped him like a rock. Maybe he was legit, but he could not have done a better job of making me think it was a scam.
Guess I could have replied back "yeah, sure. Send her up and if I like it I'll send you a check.

Well here's a update. Through Email I talked to him. serial# does have a star after it. Went back to S&W in 49. He said it had a diamond but no letter after it. Said without the letter it meant that it was not reblued. Also the side did not have the MADE IN USA. He thought they might have forgot it. Doesn't sound right to me. Anyway I don't want it.

Armslist is well known for scams. In my area any really good deal 'must be met with a healthy dose of caution.

As an ATV owner, I occasionally look at Craigslist to see what they are going for. Every once and a while I will see one like a Ranger that is a few years old asking $1,500 or $2,500 when they sell all day long for $10,000 or more. One ad that I asked about because it was supposedly local responded, when I asked to come see it, that they had moved to Louisiana but had an arrangement with eBay and could ship it anywhere in the country for free.

I responded that I had a brother in Louisiana and could get him to come look. Never heard from them again. After a little research on Craigslist, I found the same ad posted in every state between Massachusetts and California.

Be very careful dealing with sites that don't have a feedback system and I never deal with anyone that doesn't have at least a dozen positive feedbacks if it is a big item. For $5 I'll take a chance but for $650 I would be very wary.
