Taurus TX22 unboxing

That's a very nice looking pistol. Let us know how it shoots.

While I am a big fan of S&W revolvers and the old Gen 3 semi-autos, I have come to appreciate the new Taurus revolvers: a Model 856, 23 ounce, 6 shot in .38 Special; and a 617, 28 ounce 7 shoot in .357 magnum. Taurus has built a new factory from the ground up and it's state of the art. One thing they have done to promote quality was to contract out parts that other companies can make better than they can; e.g., springs, screws, pins, etc.

I also have a couple of the Millennium Pro series a (PT111 and PT145) and a 709 Slim that I have had in my carry rotation for years with no failures or mishaps.

That pistol is gonna shoot better than it looks.... I've determined you won't find any Taurus love or respect on this site. Too much beautiful blued steel and walnut to appreciate the Tupperware.

Dang: here's the the Gerber folder ... real deal....

Very nice! Am I correct in thinking that it lacks the key lock safety Taurus has used on other pistols? It looks like it has a thumb safety, and that's it.

So nice to see an auto-pistol trigger without a Glock-style safety blade in it! :D

Now that you mentioned it....it doesn't have a lock' safety.

Now that you mention the safety..... it's a weak point on the TX22...... i never use the safety lever .....

no key lock but does have 3 separate safety features
1. manual thumb safety which blocks the sear
2. it has a trigger shoe that acts as a trigger block...the first few ounces of pull on the trigger shoe pivots to release its blocking feature so that trigger can be pulled to release the sear and striker block...so essentially does the same thing as a Glock safety blade.
3. has a striker block

Wow, you are averaging a brick a day of .22 LR for a week?! One day is more .22s than I have shot since the Great Rimfire Shortage of the early decade. Looks like a keeper.

Mine was purchased 3/12..... 6 bricks and several hundred round boxes for a variety..... in 19 days:)

Now there would be a comparison test: Taurus G2C and TX22 vs S&W M&P Compact vs .22.

Who wishes he was rich and frivolous.

I only have the .22 parts of the equation.
