I find myself extremely tempted to take advantage of the current Firearms Frenzy Rebate to upgrade my EDC from a SW40VE to a new M&P40 2.0 Compact, but I'm curious just how easy is it to fill out using the online method?

I've tried looking up the details online, but the official website doesn't explain the process upfront in a step by step manner, and despite being good with electronic devices, I've never filled out a rebate form online before, and I'm nervous that the process may prove confusing, difficult, or otherwise just so tediously time-consuming that in the end I'd wish I'd never bothered in the first place.

So has anyone here taken advantage of the Rebate and filled it out online? If so, would you mind putting my mind at ease by walking me through the process, just so that I know what to expect? I'd really appreciate it.

It's straightforward and easy to do. You will need to provide the serial number and date of purchase, your name and address, and upload a photo of the receipt.

They'll confirm your submission via email in a week or two, then you'll get the rebate card in a couple weeks. You'll need to sign and activate the card before using it. The card is only good until 8/23 so don't delay using it.

Oh yeah, as mentioned below, also upload a photo of the box label.

It was easy to do as long as you have some basic computer skills. All you have to do is type in information on the website and upload 2 pics. One is the label from the box and the other is a pic of your receipt. Easy rebate and quick processing. It took maybe 3 weeks to receive card.

Very easy to do and I received my card much faster than they said it would take on a shield plus purchase .If the 2.0 compact in 40 shoots as good as my 9mm then you will be very happy. I thought about getting the 40 also but already bought too many so far this year. Pretty good deal with the rebate on that model.

I mailed mine in . Close to a month and waiting. Wish I would have done on line:(

It's easy to do however just make sure you check that the model is on the list. I bought the metal 2.0 9mm and of course it does not qualify

I had to scan in the receipt and the end of the box label, but pictures of them probably would have worked as well. Once that was done, as others said, just a couple of minutes. From filing to getting the card was nine days IIRC, and there was an extra day in there where they said I didn't have the proper documentation but their online chat straightened that out.

Word of warning on the card however, it expires in August so don't let it lie around and forget about it!

It’s easy, I bought an M&p 2.0 a few years ago. Took 10 minutes. Got my free magazines and box of ammo.

Just got my approval on the one I mailed in . About a month to the day.

Definitely go the E mail route . Seems much more efficient .

One other thought on the rebate! It comes in the form of a gift/atm card with an expiration date of August 2023. If you are buying something retail, the clerk can run the card for face value and you can pay the difference, or if you purchase is less than the rebate amount, write down the balance on the car for a future purchase.

These cards can be a PITA unless as stated you make a purchase that uses the entire amount, but doing that online can be difficult. I don't know of any websites that will allow you to use one card for a set amount and a second card for the balance. I found an easy work around.

Since I'm an avid Amazon shopper, I used my rebate card to buy an Amazon gift card for myself. The entire process, including receiving the card electronically from Amazon took less than 10 minutes. That left me with a $100 credit on Amazon that I can use at my digression, with no time limit that I'm aware of, in any amount I desire. And for partial use, Amazon automatically tracks the amount until the whole card limit is used. Easy-peasy! BTW: this should work with any rebate card, not just the S&W card.
