I used to do it that way but I discovered after much experimentation that if you will grind off the top 1.53 of the seating die,it will work nearly as well but will eliminate all that noisy banging.

I know someone who's been applying 14.6 furlongs per fortnight as he torques counterclockwise and to make matters even worse,he only uses 8.71 fpf before the final torque.I'm going to contact him immediately to let him know he's been doing it all wrong.

I have a cubits/dram chart around here somewhere which gives a formula for conversion to furlongs/fortnight.Assuming I can find it,I'll be studying that very intensely.Perhaps we can get to the bottom of this.I certainly wouldn't want to pass along any faulty calibrations.

I'm elated to report that after much searching,I finally found the chart.Unfortunately the paper had been used by being laid on the floor for the dog to do her business on when she refuses to go out during bad weather.This actually turned out to be a good thing since the increased fly activity in that area helped me find it quicker.

But there is a down side.Even after wiping away all the dried fecal matter,some of the stains that were left made much of the calculation formula unreadable.I will nonetheless save this paper and will keep it on my desk so it won't be misplaced.At some point in the future,it may be possible to apply certain chemicals to enable one to read these specifications at last.

I suggest you post a new thread asking for chemical suggestions to remove the stains, conversion charts like that are precious. I computerized mine and they all here on 5-1/4” floppy discs, but the drive crashed.
