Texas Governor to Arm National Guard Troops

Arkansas's governor, too, has ordered this.

How interesting that the Texas governor has, since so recently in his state was the "movement" convinced that the U.S. military's "Jade Helm" exercise was going to result in the government taking over.....

It's the right move for the Texas governor to make, though.

Indiana has done so as well and he is considering all military bases in the state - - - I feel a good move.

The Governor of a state commands the National Guard units in that state until they are federalized.

Don't you remember governors "calling out the guard" during natural disasters?

All fine and dandy......but that horse left the barn a long time ago.

Hopefully this will be a trend that catches on with all states even the blue ones. Like the old saying better to be prepared and not need it then need it and not have it.

Too bad none of those rifles have a magazine inserted. Never liked carrying a club that didn't have a good handle.

I think they have mags handy.
They've learned......

Guvnor Deal saw no need to issue such an order-for a very good reason:

[/I]Deal spokesman Brian Robinson said the governor made the decision after consulting with Georgia National Guard leader Joe Jarrard. He said the two concluded that no policy change was needed “because current state law allows members of the Guard to arm themselves if they choose to.”
