Here is a link to the S&W site page for the new SD series pistols. It shows a picture of the " textured finger indicator ". I'm guessing it's purpose is to help the shooter know where to place his trigger finger when doing anything other than actually shooting with a pistol in hand. Any other guesses ? Is it a good idea or kind of silly ? At first blush I kind of like it especially when thinking about teaching new self defense shooters safe gun handling skills although certainly not necessary.
