Good thing we have an assault weapons ban in New Jersey.

Otherwise, instead of the following New Jersey Legal DPMS Lite Hunter in .243 Winchester,
I might have gotten a really dangerous assault weapon,
like a Ruger 10/22 with a pistol gripped folding stock or a Marlin 60.

To my mind it's the perfect combination. Enough power to reach out and touch someone without punishing your shoulder. :)

Yes
But it handles like a 2x4 with bricks glued on,
and the factory butt plate is hard plastic with raised diamonds.
I am thinking about getting a fixed Ace Skeleton stock.

Try that with an AR-version of a .50 cal "Long Tom" if such a thing were to be built? :D We had two Long Toms and in my prime-I was only able to fire one twice those boys kicked harder than a passel of ticked off Mules. And yep-I held it correctly. My right shoulder was sore for a few weeks. My Brother in Law-who is much tougher :) was able to fire one three times and live to moan about it. :D

A fixed bayonet adds a lot of intimidation factor. It will often help avoid the need for actual shooting.

Intimidating they sure are.

This is an original AP Wire Photo--and mis-labled on the back too. Even back then they didn't check their facts properly. Anyway, the original info mentioned this guy was of Slavic heritage--but nobody but pure Aryan could serve in the Leibstandarte A.H. Division.
