That "dumb Southern kid" was the pride and joy of two parents. She obviously had a very bright future snuffed out by a deranged monster. How she got into that situation has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Even if you do something without thinking you don't deserve to be killed for bad judgement. How someone could be indifferent to something like this is beyond me. I don't know how old you are, but if your kid had been the victim you would feel very different. I have had a love one murdered. It tears your family to pieces. It sounds like you and Joran may think alike. You need to go play someplace else. You're certainly not impressing anyone here.

I can't say I'm surprised to hear this guy's name in the news again. But I always thought I would hear it in the form of a brief "where are they now" obituary after he got caught on the short end of an improvident drug deal, or moved on a girl without realizing her 6'4" special-forces-trained steady was only yards away. Instead we read about another victim, and he's the one in the vicinity.

I'm betting there won't be a third.

I wonder if there were more than the TWO we are aware of. This kid had some real issues. No telling what he did without it making the news.

Just thinking out loud... same 5/30 weekend 5 years apart... maybe the whereabouts of this dutchman should be investigated for the last weekend in May the last several years maybe some more missing girls turn up... seems I remember serial killers like anniversaries and things.

He hasn't got enough money to be "safe" in a Peruvian prison. His father was some rinky dink Dutch judge, not Pablo Escobar. The Sendero Luminoso types will probably kill him just to make a point about "colonialism".

I wonder if the Holloways are looking at bulk cigarette prices in Peru. Wouldn't it be interesting if the guy who kills Joran ends up with a cell so full of cartons of smokes that he can barely move? The only question is whether it'll be quick or it takes a LONG time. I'll bet it's even easier to smuggle a video camera into a Peruvian prison than an Illinois prison. Richard Speck's cellmate made him dress up in a purple negligee. Maybe Joran's will make him dress like Heidi.

I think just a prophecy.

It is quite likely, though. Victim's dad has money, and is probably well connected. I would imagine there is a price on Van's head- IF the dad wants things to go quickly. No matter what, I would imagine Van does not have much life left. Anywhere he surfaces, his days are numbered.
