Sorry, but it'll never happen. Geometry is against you. The J and K cylinders just aren't large enough to squeeze in .44 chambers. Consider the L-frames, whose cylinder diameter is just barely large enough to permit five .44 rounds. That's as small a wheel as you can use.
I had a CA Bulldog.44 that was close to J-frame size, IIRC (but it shot awfully). That was the idea- I'd like to see that sort of gun made by S&W.
