Apex Tactical Specialties is happy to announce our latest product for the Smith and Wesson M&P line of pistols.

The Apex Ultimate Drop In Striker Block Kit.

This kit will includes one of each of the following:

A) Apex Ultimate Drop In Striker Block - Made from ultra durable, heat treated and polished17-4 Stainless Steel. The Advanced Striker Block was engineered to produce a smoother trigger uptake as well as improve felt trigger reset in the S&W M&P pistol.

B) Apex Striker Block Spring - Engineered with 20% reduced power to yield smoother and easier movement of the Striker Block while maintaining the critical safety values already in place. The reduction in spring weight allows for less interfearance from the Striker Block while the trigger is resetting.

Bonus:
Talon Tactical Rear sight tool - Designed to provide the at home gunsmith with the ability to easily remove and install their rear sight as well as keep the striker block plate in place without the need for a 3rd hand.

This kit works in all M&P pistol models.

Great news! Will Randy be making another how-to video for this part? When installing the sear, it was really helpful to just follow along with his video on my iPhone.

Yes, there will be an instructional video on these too. The Talon Tactical Tool will help a lot for the DIY'ers out there.

I'm looking forward to seeing these parts. The Apex sear is very well designed and I would be shocked if the striker block was not the same quality.
I'm glad you all like my little sight tool.

Mike

Thanks Mike.

We certainly do like your tools, they're simple and do the job perfectly.

You've got an email from us about your tools.

Is there any way to have a guess at the "typical" reduction in trigger pull weight the lower powered spring/block set up (by itself, no Apex sear) might net? The tool addition to the kit is a nice touch, BTW.

The reduction in trigger pull won't be much. The installation of the Ultimate Striker Block is intended to smooth the uptake before the trigger bar engages the sear as well as smooth and enhance felt trigger reset.

A reduction in trigger "pull" isn't what the gun needs.
What it does need, are all the issues being addressed by Apex.
5 to 8 pounds of D/A like trigger pull are plenty light (trust me!).
Can't wait!
Thanks folks!

Not wanting to tinkle on anyone's parade. Using non OEM parts or modification of those parts nullifies the S&W life time warranty???

Thank you Flork, makes sense. One of my M&Ps already has a Burwell action that included a domed factory FP block, was wondering if the 20% reduction of the spring would make any additional difference.
Spotted dog, the 5-8 pound trigger may be fine for a lot of people. For what I use mine for, the 4 that Mr. Burwell left it with is fine...okay, maybe a bit less would be okay, too, especially with a better reset. That's why I was wondering about the parts.
I shoot around some guys that have what I think are CRAZY 2 pound or less triggers on IPSC raceguns. They think 4 pound triggers on 1911s are horrendous. I think it depends on what you are doing with the gun.

Just ordered mine! Will you all be posting a video on how to do this soon? I've never changed this part before, and the video for the sear really helped with its install.

yep, we're gonna be taping today and I'll get it edited and up ASAP.

Just got mine in today, and just found the install video on youtube, so I'll be doing the install tomorrow. I'll report back tomorrow on how it goes.
