Ny choice for a do everything handgun would be a Sig P220. One of the earlier models because they are made better.
You won't find a more accurate pistol or revolver unless it's a P210 which is crazy expensive. It can be bought for a decent price. Mine has about 15,000 rounds through it since I bought it used. It was almost certainly a duty pistol before because it had holster wear. It has almost never failed to operate. I did have problems when I got the 15,000 round count. I needed a new recoil spring which was available in many places for cheap. It shoots the .45 ACP cartridges. And at 50 yards it will shoot a very tight group. I've had crowds gather to watch me shooting that pistol. Someone went to find the range master for the pistol range and he came to try to compete with me. He was using a S&W 629 with the 8" barrel. It was just as accurate but of course it's way heavier. I have one that I carry in a shoulder holster for bear duty but as a CCW, forget it.
Speaking of CCW I carried my Sig for many years concealed. It was never a problem. It's more simple to use than a 1911 and very easy to maintain. Cleaning it is a snap.
The only drawback is the 8 round limit. I switched to higher capacity pistols because of that but if I was in a gun fight with an unlimited supply of loaded mags I would want that Sig with me still.
BTW I could sell it for more than I paid for it about 15 years ago even with the high round count. The thing is tough as nails and just crazy accurate. I keep coming back to that because I've rarely seen handguns that accurate. I've seen some but they weren't really suitable for CCW. One last thing is it can shoot double taps pretty well but I have seen pistols do better. I have a Taurus that will do a lot better actually. That pistol is amazingly good for a Taurus. It's never once had a failure and it is also very accurate.
