Hello all, I am new to the forum as you can see, but today is the day for me. In about 2 hours, I will have my hands on my new S&W, model 327 TRR8. I just simply cannot wait. It is intented for my night stand, as well as my companion for what I hope to be many hours at the range with my wife. I have read countless posts from naysayers about this weapon - scandium this, mall ninja that... but at the end of the day, it is a performance center gun, with (8) .357's in it, ready for pleasure, and God forbid, any defensive scenario I or my family is introduced to.
Aside from it being cool looking (to me), I kind of like the idea of having the top accessory rail mounted for two reasons.. 1, it adds top of rail weight to a light gun, reducing recoil, 2, if it becomes a hand to hand situation, I can certainly use it as a serated whip.
Just can't wait... I will post some pictures soon, but I know most of you know what this bad boy looks like.
One last thing, (although I know it is been threaded before)
any thoughts on a bedside safe, a holster for this (with the rails mounted), and finally - viridian green lasers.
Thanks and happy shooting. :D

RossMatt I like your enthusiasm ! It's been a while since I viewed a photo of the model you refer to so put up some photos if you can. Sounds like you'll be well armed for any encounter. If you like the gun and become proficient with it that is what matters. To hell with the nay-sayers. Hope you enjoy it and get out and burn some powder soon !

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have done your homework and found what works for you. That's all that counts.

I'll admit I've seen a lot of changes in the last 60 years and I've fought every danged one of them.

Although I am stuck back in the sixties on S&W styles, I can see the merits of the TRR8 for today's situations, and your reasoning is sound.

You have picked a good'n. Hope you and your wife wear that rascal out havin' fun with it or vice versa.:)

I would really like to know if your impressions of the gun match your expectations. I too have been researching this model for some of the same reasons why you purchased yours. Performance Center guns don't come cheap but hey, quality is never cheap. Hope you enjoy the new gun.

ugggghhhh.... paid in full, ready to take it home on friday. "I'm sorry sir, you can't take it home today, the home address on your license doesn't match your application"
So... now I need to get an up to date drivers license and I have to wait until this friday...

:eek::D"use it as a serated whip"??!dang!!
nice choice...i have severalperformance center guns and they are very nice...mine just don't come with that whipping feature!!

kenny, I guess I chose bad wording there... just saying in case I need to hit someone with it, it'll hurt more with the light rail... but lets get one thing straight... the only dirt I want on this thing is from gun powder. :)
