They're looking for hep C. ( in my case) there's a number of different strains of it, apparently (as of 9:30 this mornin)

Well, if that is what it is, just watch the TV commercials, pills for that seem to be on of the more common. Just tell your doctor "As seen on TV! " ��

Here, with my internal issues, the Doc called me this morning to discuss yesterday's CT and blood panel results. Said everything looks normal. He had no explanation for my continuing abdominal pain (my description is 'full size Bowie knife in low-left gut').
In process of being referred to gastroenterologist.
I have little patience with all this.

After Genotype tests for hepatitis C, virus NOT detected.
Apparently, (as in 20% of people infected and showing antibodies for the disease) my body has beaten whichever strain I had.
