I have only one gun with the IL, a 642-2. The lock may or may not still function.

I haven't used it , yet....But I no longer have children living in the house. If I ever have grand kids running around here then I probably, might use it.
The lock doesn't bother me and I'm glad its there, if , in case , I ever want to lock it. The guns that have them are my most fired and none have ever locked themselves or caused any issues.
Now the reason I bring up children is because I would sneak into my parents room and fool with my daddy's guns , I knew I wasn't supposed to....but I was a kid and curious !
With a lock , I won't have to be so concerned about the curiosity and an accident.

I have one Smith with the lock unfortunately my 617. Never used it.
