With the holidays behind us, for many it is time to slim down again. Yes, you could regal us with tales of how your metabolism burns 20,000 calories a day or how you can eat anything and stay fit as long as you work your farm or keep running marathons or Sumo wrestling, but for those of us who are desk bound most of the day, exercise - usually walks - often takes a back seat to diet. I cut back to one meal a day, other than Metamucil and unsweetened tea for breakfast, cut out the sugar and limit the salt. Back to the salads as often as possible. Peanut butter and sugar fee jelly for a treat on Saturdays. What works for you? Happy New Year early.

The Keto diet works wonders for me and I've tried them all! I'm very active, workout weekly, and eat pretty healthy but the desserts and the carbs during the holidays will pack on the pounds. It's easy to take off 5 or so pounds a month and I'm not really hungry when on Keto and eat a lot of meat, fish, eggs, pork, butter, and green leafy vegetables. The hard part is eating enough healthy fats from avacados, nuts, coconut oil, and avacado oil and keeping under 30 grams of carbs per day.

Post Covid and taking massive steroids daily, I went to 201. I'm only 5'10" so when the wife went keto in March, I followed along "loosely." I weighed yesterday and just a shade over 168#. I feel better although my clothes make me look homeless raggedy. Meh, that's the look I go for when I'm out in public, much to the chagrin of my wife. I figure it's better to look like someone with nothing worth taking. I've been invisible to young women for probably 20 years anyway. Joe
