Okay so now that my recoil spring problem is fixed, and I had a gunsmith drift the sights to be dead center, I must admit this little handgun is terrific.

Yes, getting here was a struggle and I honestly resent having to go through what I did to make it perfect, but after 500 rounds as of this weekend it shoots dead on and functions flawlessly.

I'm quite sure that there are 100s more BG 2.0 out there with similar problems and I really hope S&W rectifies these issues before owners lose faith in their pieces and either sell them off or avoid them.

It reminds me of the CSX, which got off with some issues, real and imagined. I had one, liked it, but eventually sold/traded it off, as I used to do quite often, not so much anymore. I remember it was supposed to have a "false reset" which I never noticed, and the mags were hard to load. I needed a loading tool with that one also. It was small, and somewhat hard to shoot, which probably contributed to me getting rid of it. That and some other bright, shiny thing caught my eye.

Do they still make the CSX? I don't think I've heard it mentioned in a long time.

I think the problem people had with the CSX was that it looked 1911ish, but it didn't have a 1911 trigger. More guns than the CSX certainly have 'false resets.' My S&W 5946 has a click and then another click that's the actual reset. The Ruger LCR has a false reset, but that certainly hasn't hurt sales.

There are plenty of CSX available for sale, but I doubt that S&W is doing continuous production. There aren't too many big discounts over MAP, so it doesn't seem like there are huge amounts of excess inventory for distributors to clear out.

I suspect that S&W is now primarily using the CSX's frame manufacturing process to make M&P Metal frames.

Interesting, I just saw where the Bodyguard 2.0 was named 2024 Handgun of the Year by GUNS & AMMO. Haven't read the article yet but somebody must like them!

Yes. Guns & Ammo, who was most likely compensated for bestowing this "award" to S&W, likes the 2.0. Dozens of compensated internet shills like the 2.0.

Once you see the inside of the gun industry, you learn merit has little or nothing to do with any of it. Gun "media" - then and now - are paid spokespersons in disguise. Nearly everyone in the "industry" is there primarily to make a buck. If it wasn't guns it would be some other product.

It's all about the Benjamins.
