The Last Supper....

Nice!

A pan fried hamburger with ketchup, boiled potatoes mashed with a fork and covered with creamed corn butter and pepper. In fact when my wife asks what Id like for supper, I just tell her the Last Supper.

Sounds awesome!

Corn and Potatoes

Meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes, big scoop of corn plopped down in the middle of the potatoes with tomato gravy over the whole thing. then a big slice of warm rhubarb pie with vanilla ice cream. Just what granny would fix one a week when I was a kid.

I love corn and mashed potatoes......with a thick piece of butter right between them.....

Outstanding!!

I have had this "last meal" menu in my head for a long time. Thanks CH.

First: dust off my cookbooks.

Aperitif: tall Tanqueray&tonic w/lime wedge.

Real caesar salad w/anchovies, A warm yeast roll w/sun dried tomato infused butter.

Steak Diane, roasted rosemary/parmesan red potatoes and lightly oiled grilled asparagus with a butter, cayenne, nutmeg brushing. Served with Belhaven Saint Andrew's Ale.

Bananas Foster w/real vanilla bean ice cream.

Large snifter of Warres vintage port.

A wafer thin mint.

That Sir, is simply outstanding! Very well composed.....

Bananas Foster.....hadn't thought of that...... I think I may add that to my last supper.

I would request breakfast for my last supper! I could eat breakfast anytime!

I would want bacon, just a bit under cooked as in not quite crispy, potatoes fried in bacon grease, and two eggs cooked over easy. Couple of slices of toast with butter. On the side, I'd like Christmas chile - red and green chile - with chopped onions and a couple of slices of garden tomatoes!!! To wash it all down, a fountain Coke or a big glass of OJ.

Realistically, if were my, literal, last meal, I'd probably be too anxious to eat...

A proper roast duck or goose. For last meal purposes, domestic not wild birds. Sour cherry sauce for the duck.
Sweet and sour cabbage.
Salt roasted new potatoes with dill butter.
A modest garden salad with my vinegar and oil dressing.
Rhubarb pie
An indifferent red wine.
A snifter of cognac to top it all off.

Breakfast...Three eggs over easy, at least a dozen strips of "wobbly" bacon, hash browns covered with sausage gravy and a couple fresh baked bisquits on the side w/huckleberry jam. I'm Ready...I can eat breakfast anytime. A good alternative while down south is instead of hash browns, substitute cheesy grits and the option of red eye gravy.
