Pity, that. IMO, all of the main characters were better portrayed in the newer version.

YMMV, though.

My opinion, also. I liked it much better than the original.

I'm 53, and grew up on John Wayne movies. Now I find them almost un-watchable.

Some of these posts sound like they were written by my dad!

I'm pretty sure...not much.

I'm saddened that heroism is considered so corny these days that a Lone Ranger or a Man of Steel can't be made as they would have been even 20 years ago. The target audience (under 35) is so jaded and hip that only ironic and dark heroes need apply. Like I said, sad....

It's terrible...tried to walk the line between an adult movie and a kid's show and failed. Violent and not true to the spirit of the Ranger.

Seen it today. As a script etc it was dumb but I enjoyed the special effects, costumes and guns and especialy the makeup artists work on the actors and also the scenery. They all sure had a terminal case of the uglys!

Tonight, Leno said the movie is doing so bad that the Lone Ranger takes his mask off halfway through since nobody is watching. Hehe.

Jimmy Fallon said it's $150 million in the hole and things are so bad that the dead bird on Depp's head is looking for a new agent.
