Here's a 29-3 with the 10 5/8" barrel and it has the "N" serial prefix which makes this case period correct!

Here's a 29-2 "S" serial prefix with a not-so-period correct case!

What a bunch of good looking guns.

Ok, we have seen a few pre-29 6 1/2" with what could be called the muzzle forward stamping. So, has anyone seen an 8 3/8" with a muzzle forward stamping?

Veeeery nice guns. I am out looking for a good old m29 and this thread is a great inspiration.

29-1: Which vintage is the first 4" at top ?

This is a 5 screw pre-29 S156something that shipped 11/6/1956, one of the first 4" pre-29s produced.

Beautiful 29's! I've got a nickeled 6 1/2 29-2 (circa 1973) that I'll never part with. Thanks for sharing the pics everyone!

Now you made me do it. I got so excited I had to dig out a pic of a .44 mag. I had. Nice gun but way too much for me.

29-3 8 3/8" bbl.
