The Most Famous Person You've Met

Around late 64 early 65 I was a guard at universal studios for about 4 months. The other guards would say that actor is a good guy, or that one a butt head etc. Often I would find the opposite. I did see bad behavior on a few, but I suppose they could have had their reasons or just a bad day. I had a few go out of their way for me, buy my lunch etc. I sure would hate to be judged by a few snapshots of my life. Judgeing by what I read and see on tv now the newer young actors are a different breed than most I seen and met years ago.

Mary Lou Retton
Came to my workplace and had a meet and greet.
Still got her autographed picture hanging on the door inside

When I was 14 I met Dan Donegan of Disturbed, I was at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando and my brother called me to make sure and I walked up and started talking to him and i ended up having a cup of coffee with him.

Where I live in Houston Ive SEEN NOT TALKED TO alot of the Houston Rappers, but when I was working as a cashier at Academy Slim Thug ( famous houston rapper) came through my line to buy a basketball and we talked for abit and signed the receipt.

This is NOT political but last night I spent three hours in a 20X20 room with about 12 Secret Service Agents, a small group of multimillionnaires (not one of them being me) and a person that is one of the Big Three on the Republican ticket. Even had a few photo ops with me beside him. Unfortunately the media was not allowed and the location was not publicized. He and I had a few interesting conversations and his daughter even took a photo of her father and I.

Never met a famous person. I am however distantly related to Andy Griffith but we have never met. Even tho he has been invited numerous times to the family reunion he has never atended. Ergo we have never met.

Francis Crick, winner of the Nobel Prize for discovering DNA

Several actors at Charity Events for Quail Unlimited and the American Indian Association (Private premier of :Dances with Wolves" )==Wes Studi, Lou Ferrigno, Joe Mantegna and others.

Several scientists who got the Nobel Prize for discovering climate change (Don't remember who was who=after all about 40 people shared the Prize)

Ned Beatty, from Deliverance and other movies.

Growing up in L.A. it was no big deal==everybody knew someone in Hollywood. My cousin was dance instructor for several of the Mouseketeers=including Annette.

It took me one second to come up with my answer - John Lennon. Oh, and by the way, the add that popped up to the left of the forum while I was reading this thread wasn't bad to look at either! There's "something incredible" about Jennifer Love Hewitt that makes you wanna just reach out and touch someone! Thanks S&W forum, you made my day :D !

I've met a bunch of presidential candidates over the years, but the most memorable was actually getting to visit for a few minutes with G.H.W. Bush when he was V.P. Really nice guy.

While I've been in close proximity to, and even exchanged a few words with some famous people, not a lot of them mind you, the one that I knew was someone that I never really knew how popular he was. I still don't, but heard that he was quite the celeb in his day.

My Dad grew up with Lynn Chandnois, who played for the Pittsburg Steelers if I'm not mistaken, where he was supposed to be one of their better players. That's what I heard anyways. Based on his age this must have been back in the 1950's & early 60's?

Lynn used to come up to our place in Northern Michigan snowmobiling on a regular basis back in the early 70's.

I met Donny Osmond and one of his sons this last Christmas eve. He is good friends with my girlfriends' brother. Donny is a short little fella.

I have been drunk with a few who will never be mentioned.
LBJ, AW--just a lot.
Most notable person I have ever known is Steven O'Brian Jones.
But, that is just me.
Blessings

I don't know why I didn't think of him earlier, but I worked with a guy for almost 10 yr's that I would bet everyone here has never heard of, but, many here have heard him. ;)

His name is Talmage Gough, but we just called him Tommy.

Tommy was in the original singing group, "The Crests" with Johnny Maestro and he, Tommy that is, is one of the singers on "Sixteen Candles", among many other songs by that group.

Tommy used to take all of his vacation time in one lump and would travel to places like Las Vegas & New York to spend time with those from the original singing groups from that era that he had toured with back in the day. I would always get an update every year on who had died and who was still at it and where they had been touring.

In the end it worked out for Tommy, but, for years things were in limbo on back royalties owed many of the groups, including The Crests.

About 5 years before Tommy retired he came back from a vacation, which was partially spent in a Federal Court fighting for these royalties, and he wasn't a happy man.

When the Federal Judge made a ruling, "that time", he told the plaintiffs, including Tommy, "I don't ever want to see you has-beens in my court again."
Tommy said, "He hasn't heard the last from us!"

About 6 months before Tommy retired from The Buick his ship came in.
His share of the royalties was a very handsome sum indeed.:p

It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.......

Forgot a couple:

My uncle was President of Mickey Thompson Enterprises. Knew Mickey, his wife and the boys. Went fishing a few times with them and Ed Iskendarian (owned Isky Cams). Micky made my uncle stop racing after he went through the timing lights at 183 mph (SIDEWAYS!). But there was always a dragster or funny car in the garage==met Tommy Ivo, Cha-Cha Muldowney and others out there.

Had a second cousin-in-law who was Playmate of the year in 1978 and was on Mork and Mindy (Debra Jo Fondren)==never met her although I have some pictures/snapshots from family gatherings somewhere at home.

When I worked in real estate (title Insurance), I did numerous celebs and many would come in to sign escrow docs. I forgot her name but JR's girlfriend on Dallas, Michael Cooper (basketball) several LA Rams & Dodgers.

Boy, this is bringing back memories of my life BC (Before College=I returned to get my degrees while in my 40's).

Willie Nelson's dad, Ira and I used to shoot a lot of pool together back in the mid 70s at his pool hall on Lamar in Austin. Met Rand Paul several times at the NGD gun show and my state representative was with me once so I introduced them. I've met Joe Wannamacher and he told me the magic words to say to get in his Tulsa gun show for set up day even if his tables were sold out.

Small potatoes, but I was an extra in an "Ernest" movie once, and got to meet Jim Varney, 'Tex' Cobb, and Charles Napier. They were all a bunch of very nice guys!

A lot of other people, mainly in country music, being in Nashville. My mom met Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban at a grocery store here a few years ago. Her description of Nicole went as follows, "Damn, she's tall!!"

Maybe the most famous was while sitting with a First Class Upgrade on a trip from Detroit to Los Angeles with the Four Tops and their manager. They decided to entertain the main cabin with a couple of their great Motown hits.

The most moving event where I met someone famous happened when I was fortunate enough to be a Guardian for one of my company's Honor Flights to DC. We chaperoned retired company employees who were WWII vets. As often happens at the WWII Memorial, Bob Dole came by and spent some time with the "troops". Very moving event and a great day for all.
