Watching “Shooter” as I type. Full of the same BS, but entertaining, even for the 5-6 time.

"Sniper" was truly awful... though they did steal some material from Carlos Hathcock's Bio.
Shooter was also pretty bad. The book was much better: Point of Impact by Stephen Hunter.
Stephen Hunter also wrote Pale Horse Coming which has an interesting collection of gunfighters based on real personalities who would be very familiar to most on this forum. They go by different names in the book, but each can be identified by their descriptions and arms.

I was watching "Shooter" last night also. Just why did he take all those heavy rifles in the field with him?
Most but not all of the Stephen Hunter books deal with snipers, and are very entertaining. The one about the Kennedy Assassination is very, very, very fictional, but still entertaining.
