The New Marlins have been released

Didn't see another thread on this, Ruger started shipping the new Marlins today. The only one released yet is their 45/70 SBL. So far it looks great! For anyone on the Faces of Book, Ed Head has a quick rundown on his page and Rob Leahy posted some pics on the Simply Rugged page....

I believe these are made in Madison, NC. in scenic Rockingham Co. My mama's hometown. So many good folks there. I hope the new Marlins sell well and all is good in the old hood.

A lot of information hitting several Forums. From what I've
read, a lot of great improvements; machining, heat treatments,
trigger pull, bore twist 1:20, muzzle threaded, better finishes,
and supposedly made stronger.

MSRP appears to be $1400.

Like it but would want a stainless 1894 in 45colt. Nice rifle but stop laying beautiful guns in gravel, rocks, bricks etc to photograph, you wouldn't ask Scarlet Johansson to lay on rocks for a photo.

I don't think most of the "JM purist" will complain if Ruger makes them like they do the other guns they make. The Remlin's were not quality at all. Even the last couple of years when they were better they were sending out new guns with problems that should have been notice and fixed before they went to the dealers. I don't believe Ruger will do that. Being a member of Marlinowners I can tell you that most if not all over there are excited about the new ones being released.

Is someone going to put a suppressor on it?

I am busy saving every penny I can get my hand on in anticipation that Ruger will offer the 1894 ... hopefully blued ... in either S&W .357 Magnum or ... S&W .44 Magnum! Somewhere in my junk box I do believe I have a Lyman aperture rear sight that will screw right on the side of the receiver. If so ... all I'll need is a box of ammo and I'll be ready to lower the boom on coastal deer and hogs! Sincerely. bruce.

I have already threaded a 45 Long Colt Thunderbolt rifle (pump) as well as a 357 Magnum lever action

Manually operated actions are MUCH quieter than any semi or full auto suppressed firearm

I wouldn't mind a stainless Marlin 357. The existing ones are super expensive.

Looks great except for the large loop lever . Stupidest thing you could do to a lever action .
