Thanks to Walmart

Unfortunately I have visited the 4 Walmarts around me to no avail. Never ANY ammo in 9mm or 22... or any other caliber except some shotgun shells. But I'm glad to hear they haven't changed their pricing. Sportsman's Warehouse and Scheels have been doing the same thing, no price change and limiting boxes. I have bought (4) 500 round boxes of Remington 22lr over the last few weeks from Sportsmans for $20/ea. and it was refreshing to find some 9mm on the shelf at Scheels for $14.99 instead of the $20 some other gun shops are charging.

I just want to thank walmart for keeping their prices in check and putting a 3 box limit in place. Walmart has allowed me to stock up on ammo to a point im happy at almost prepanic prices. If it wasn't for them id have nothing to shoot this summer cause i can't afford the other price gouged ammo at LGS. Even if you haven't scored any from them they deserve a nod for keeping it coming in and being fair. No need to comment just give a thanks if your with me! (Plenty of discussion on walmart already)

Agreed!!!!! Thank you Walmart!!!!

Thank you walmart......for nothing. In all seriousness I really do think academy's 3 box limit, 1 per caliber is lame, but I think walmart should do the same too. Because I have gotten .40 once in the past 2 weeks at walmart and I didn't even need it. And this is coming from someone who has been there at 7am everyday (with nobody else in line). So my question is....where's the ammo?

Once in awhile I will go into a Walmart, but I am not one of the early risers.

Now and then I will latch on to some ammo, so I guess if they can get it they will sell it.

Our local Dunham's is charging upwards of $27-30.00+ for the same 50 rnd boxes that Wally World still gets $16.50 for when available. (I refuse to pay it). You have to be out early and regularly... or just lucky to score occasionally. I retired from the rat race for awhile but like to keep tabs on things. A kind conversation in the sporting goods dept goes a long way with "doomsday" weary employees. They'll tell you when to show up for your best chances. The 3 box limit is OK by me if it helps to curb hoarding and reseller behaviors.

Wonder what state you live in here ammo has been and still is in short supply I've only been able to score on box of WWB .380 for my wife since the begining of this.

You are right. I live on the western border town of Parkersburg and we have two walmarts. I have seen some 9 mil, 380 but no 22 at all. Ammo is still really scarce here as well. I have checked on the website for Clarksburg and every time they do not have any either. Dunham's here doesn't have any either.:(

I would like to thank WalMart for displaying EXTEREMELY BAD POLICY this morning at a store in Tulsa...

I have chased the "in stock" and "limited stock" thing before at Wally World on several occasions with no luck and a lot of wasted time and gas but this morning takes the cake.. I see one store that is showing both in stock and limited stock on .22 ammo at 4:00 am this morning. I decided to go try to get a box and was at the store at 6:30 am to wait for the sporting goods to open. There was a small group there when I arrived and I counted the people in front of me and I was 8th in line. Well, it was about 7:15 or so when a couple of "associates" came carrying a box that contained 12 bricks of .22s. I thought, "Great I will finally get a box." As always with WalMart it took about 10 minutes for them to get logged into their register and ready to work. Then I'll be damned if the first guy in line was allowed to get three bricks. I quickly asked one of the associates what the limit was and he said three boxes per person. So needless to say only the first four people in line got any or the 12 bricks. There was only about a dozen people waiting when they brought the ammo out... but rather than trying to please as many as possible with a brick each, they made 4 people happy and really pissed off a group of 8 or more. I keep hearing that WalMart has fixed the "favortism" issues with the ammo but this situation is so pregnant with implications of wrong doing that it just stinks! Chasing ammo at WalMart in this area is a total waste of time unless your brother-in-law works there and lets you know what day and what time to get there for it. I'm DONE with the Wally World for good!

Yes, THANK YOU WALMART!!!!

Its been a struggle the last couple months but I have built up a stockpile that should get me through the summer for all the more I will be shooting.

So needless to say only the first four people in line got any or the 12 bricks.

That being said I still wish they would cap the large boxes of 22lr to a single box so more people can get them.

Wally World Ammo

Interesting endeavor, as I began an earnest search for 9mm ammo,,,found bricks upon bricks at the Chelmsford Walmart, that had been delivered to the store as normal stock, but the store management had been informed by the local authorities it would be illegal to sell them as part of some new law recently passed. So I tried to have it transferred to Maryland, to no avail. Last I heard, the Store Manager had worked a deal to sell only what he had in stock...not sure whats left, but if your in the area, it might be worth a shot....

I think Walmart has done a fairly good job managing through this mess. The 3 box limit is reasonable and they've kept the line on prices.

I've read complaints in this thread that stun me a little. For those who can show employees are misbehaving, file a complaint with both the store manager and corporate. Give them the information and even if it's not "iron clad", corporate will investigate.

Those that complain about the 7AM lines, what do you offer as a better solution? I don't like it either but it's the case at Cabelas, Academy, and I suspect most other big box outlets. In January and February when the stores were allowed to stock ammo as they always did, I took the time to get to know the patterns of the local stores, talk to employees, and I was able to get some merchandise when and IF the store did. Did I make a bunch of early morning or late night trips for no reason? YOU BET I did. However, the stores don't know what they are getting. The "hey it's in stock" threads have only served to enable a LOT more people to reap rewards without developing their own shopping skills :) No pain and all gain!

For those feeling like the secret list is being leaked, the distribution centers have taken over allocating the scarce product. Again, if you know otherwise, report the manager to Corporate.

In general, I thank Walmart for keeping some sanity in the current chaos! Life is not fair people. Not everyone gets a trophy and we do keep score!

Apparently some of you don't know how to read a thread in its entirety. This is a thread for thanking walmart, not bashing them or sharing your negative experiences. They have been helpful to me and Alot of others. Keep your negativity to yourself

Oh, I DID thank them, I guess you missed it. Some of us have positive experience and some don't. I simply speak the truth. Thanks again WalMart!

I totally agree with you. Lets say i went to walmart 100% of the mornings they opened. I only came home 10-20% with something that i want.

That's life

Another thanks to walmart and the walmart app to helping me score another 2000 rounds this week! No gouging there!!

This so called *** Walmart app does not work for any of my local stores. Also, Walmart was taking sides with the anti-guns if I recall, so no thank you walmart here. Also, for a newer store to open up and only have 3 out of 30 checkouts open at 7pm, that is great. Walmart can close its doors for I all care. It's a Walmart thread , so posted walmart feedback. :)

I'd like to thank WallyWorld for saving me money on ammo purchases, too. It has been months since my local store has had a total of three boxes of ammo I could use!

Stainz

Yeah Right.....Never mind they put so many store fronts out of business that were vital to the community long before they decided to come to town

Wouldn't your thanks get to the right people better if you sent them a message instead of posting it on a random internet board? I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that the people who matter over there will never read here and see this... just saying.

Agreed. I just thought it would be a good area to share positive experiences is all
