The Plagues Have Arrived In SC

Don't forget the giant parachuting Joro spiders, our latest invasive treat.

Yikes!! Hadn't heard about these. I just Googled 'em and learned that they are venomous but (supposedly) no threat to humans because their fangs (supposedly) can't penetrate human skin.

Maybe, maybe not.

If they spread to N. Texas I'm puttin' 'em on notice. I was here first and I have 0 tolerance for most spiders...them for sure.

Well, I guess you wouldn't be a fan of the giant blue tarantula, then

The sound of Curunnncchhe When they get stepped on by a size 11 hunting/combat boot is a very welcome sound...OOOPPPS!

I remember living in SC and our first time on the area lake in spring. Saw a thick "cloud" coming across the bay and thought someone was just burning trash or something. Nope it was the breeze blowing pollen in. Held our breath and motored away lol.

I lived in Sumter County from '73 to '75.

The good far outweighed the bad.

You likely traveled I95 during that time. If you saw some youngsters working the fields near the highway in the Lynchburg area, I was one of them. Heck, before my father met my mother while stationed at Shaw, she dated Cale Yarborough...used to see him at family funerals paying his respects. It's so different now, I go back to visit family and dont recognize anything.

Did Somebody reduce his sentence? Last I heard he got ten.

My apologies. I'll change my first post.

I lose track of those biblical lists: 3 horsemen ,7 Deadly Sins, 10 plagues, 12 tribes and Apostles, 66 books, 150 Psalms, and a partridge in a pear tree!

Snow Birds

Concerning folks that wish that the snowbirds, would soon go home; I wonder if any of them have families, of Timucua origin?

If not for snowbirds, who do permanent residents, of Florida suppose, would provide their wants, and needs?

For several years my wife and I were permanent residents of Florida, paid Florida taxes, used the services of their physicians, trade craftsmen, building materials, grocers, entertainers, shooting facilities, and other amenities.

I was always thankful for my support by snowbirds in that era.

It's not my intent, to be overly critical, just to give my opinion. My opinion is based on experience.
