I've never been too concerned about "deliveries" to my home but today gave me reason to think ;)

In the past there's not been more than the HazMat label on my packages. But today, I received this box making it quite clear as to the contents and then the FedEX guy comments on the shipments I've had this year.

Is it time for tin foil head gear :)

Probably a result of the 9000 regs promulgated by the Feds in the last few years.

Why not stamp the boxes "BOMB MAKING MATERIALS." Or "The BEST EXPLOSIVES SINCE DIESEL FUEL AND FERTILIZER!"

Even porn companies put their materials in plain brown wrappers. (Not that I would know, so I have been told by friends).

Shipping Labels

The various warning hazards are there courtesy of your never-ending federal government who are constantly dreaming up ways to protect us from ourselves.

It reminds me of the airline regs first promulgated when traveling with firearms. The checked bag had to have a label stating that firearms were enclosed. It should have been called, "Operation Foolish and Futile." Well, this was a "steal me" label for the baggage handlers and low lives sometimes lurking at the baggage carousel. It only took the Feds a few years to figure that one out.

A futile attempt to protect people from themselves that may go back before the mislabeled 02 generators sent ValueJet 592 and 110 people nose diving in the 'Glades.

Your package labeling is overkill but whoever sent it has no control over what happens after it ships. A look at the gorilla in the old Samsonite commercial may be the least of the yahoos a package may encounter.

If I remember it's not the Feds that require all the marking, it's IATA, International Airline Transport Authority, who sets the rules for all Haz-mat shipments. Believe me it's a royal pain in the rear. Sadly the Fed-Ex Haz-Mat shipping "experts" often have no idea of what they are doing, how to read the shipping papers, or what to do with a spill.
