Just saying, He had to see this thread and he had his chance to defend himself.

I don't want to pile on but this is getting old. I hope he sees the light and realizes that sooner or later someone smart enough will see the inconsistencies and call him on it. I've had suspicions for a while but Pawngal really put it out there.

There are no certain winners in a situation like this.

the ringo kid certainly doesn't come out a winner here.

Those here who have befriended him certainly won't enjoy this situation.

I know for a fact that a few here have even helped him financially in his worst situations. They certainly won't enjoy this situation.

Those here who have enjoyed his history and movie threads certainly won't enjoy this situation.

There are some good folk here. They empathize with other's troubles. There have been many occasions when folks here have helped others that really needed help with a few bucks.

I'm not sure why some people feel the need to do that. I suppose pawngal nailed it- attention. I just have trouble grasping the concept of acquiring attention under false pretenses.

We OWE pawngal for figuring this mess out. I would suggest not treating her badly for exposing a phony.

I'm not big on internet crucifixion.
The only reason this is here is to protect others from being taken in.
He did not solicit donations in his supposed hard times, but he did accept donations sent by the fine folks here.
 
Meh, we All have our quirks and eccentricities. I read many many of his posts and although I didn't follow all of the saga of Sabrina I did notice certain inconsistencies. A lot of his posts were harmless enough and if othes felt like helping,I guess that was there choice. If all he was looking for was attention and or sympathy then I say no harm no foul. I suspect that given the amount of posting that he did if the mods felt that he had any nefarious intentions they would have barred him long ago.
 
Lee and Pawngal are dead on with the attention thing, I'm afraid. The Internet is the ideal place for it, and it's cheaper than going to a bar and spinning tall tales.

I witnessed another example a good few years ago on a digital photography website. A prolific poster was called out over some pictures he posted...by the guy that ACTUALLY took and owned them. :D

Walter Mitty clones are alive and well in some numbers on the Internet. We have fewer than most on this board. Check out certain other gun and car related boards for a few days and you will see what I mean.

Not me. Best I can do is try to relate on some level.
THE one reason I never considered law enforcement.
Kid represented himself as a detention officer retired on disability.
Without a lot of detail what he posted about his service seemed legit to my ignorant self.


I do hope he's OK. He has a certain child like quality I could only shake my head at and move on. As of late he seemed to be approaching desperation about the time of the Sabina saga moving on to Home Depot and the search for companionship.
If something happened that sent him sideways, so be it.
Implanted cranial wiring? How would I know?


Hope he comes back, 'fesses up comes clean, whatever.
All I have to say is shake it off, be straight and welcome back.
 
Too many of his tales seemed too "perfectly" crafted.

Let's not forget the one about the Thompson machine guns from the Korean War. I actually tried to call him out, but the thread died.

He's had ample time to try and explain himself in this thread. Heck, it's important enough that even Handejector has chimed in. I consider his participation in a thread a pretty good barometer of importance.

Again, Ringo has had ample time to come in here and defend himself. Something tells me he won't and the next time we hear from him (if), it will be a thread about cheeseburgers or beer.

Maybe it is just me.
 
Having gone back and read the Sabrina threads on this and the other forum I'm sickened that anyone would play good people this way. Not only did he deceive people but he laid it on thicker as it went (read that car wreck thread on the other forum).

Ringo, You asked for prayers.

This is really wild...

Been taking it all in and hesitant to comment at all. Maybe I should not. But here I am doing so...

In fact I am not going to say as much as I had intended, but will say only that I have met and worked with a few people, face to face, day to day, in close quarters, who were chronic 'storytellers' (put kindly), OR pathological liars (put clinically). They were generally likeable, harmless, people with some kind of 'disorder' that tended to make them extremely unlikeable after some time, by many, including myself, because to continue to even PRETEND that you believed the story line, to even OPEN YOUR EARS at them, required the 'listener' to basically grant the 'teller' the answer to the rhetorical question of - "what do you think I am, stupid?!"
 
As I said in a previous thread, he needs help beyond what can be provided here and I hope he gets it.

Speaking for myself since no one else is entitled to speak for me, I trust folks on this forum until they show that they are not trustworthy, as demonstrated by Ringo.

I'm going to try and not check back in here in the future.
I don't know "Ringo" and don't care.
I find it odd that all of us worry this to no end but yet, no response from " Ringo".
I suspect we won't hear one either.

Here's the deal. The Ringo Kid perpetuated a fraud on this Forum and another. For years. He preyed on you for good tidings...and, I am told, financial benefits. He INTENTIONALLY misled you good people here and there...repeatedly. Trust me, the evidence is overwhelming.

Why? I do not know. But there is proof. It is already in your view.

Do I have sympathy/empathy? None. It was clearly intentional and for a prolonged period of time. It was premeditated.

Be safe.
 
Ringo is one of our most valued members. I hate to see him slandered in this manner, I thought us better than this.
