The Russians have gone in

The rouble stands at 107.37 to one dollar right now.

So what was it before all this BS started. Never have dealt in rubles before, lots of other currencies, but not rubles.

Update: Just answered my own question. The ruble was averaging about 75 rubles to the dollar before this farcas started. Right now according to Eastern European EMs highly correlated to Ruble it is at 116 to the dollar.

An old friend posted a great suggestion online the other day:

Google 'Restaurants in Moscow' and then leave reviews on those restaurants' websites stating what Russia is really doing in Ukraine.

Sounds like a great way to convey the truth of what is happening to the Russian people...

Saw a TV report that this has
been done repeatedly.

Lots of propaganda flying around now. Hard to tune in "truth".

Yes, there are a lot of different claims being made by both sides, especially about the types and numbers of casualties. But...

What is definitely *not* propaganda are the documented Russian attacks on civilian targets (both people and infrastructure), which we see playing out on television every day. Respectfully, it's not hard at all to tune in "truth"...you just have to turn on your television and open your eyes.

When this is over, and the inevitable war crimes investigation and subsequent trial takes place, it will have been exhaustively documented, and the evidence against Putin and his myrmidons will be incontrovertible.

Since he could not win easily, he will revert to a "Scorched Earth Campaign".

Young Russian people are on social media. Putin can't hide what's happening. The world is watching, but does he care? I think he does not, his megalomanic brain won't let him.

The people may know what he is doing. But probably not much they can do about it, except end up in a gulag. Unless others in the Party or military decide enough is enough..........

thousands of anti-tank rockets on their way, an increasing number of volunteer mercenaries are arriving in country to fight, Russia admitted a general leading a battlation was killed, and thousands of Ruski body bags are arriving in Russia.
Putin will win the invasion, and lose the war.

BBC revives shortwave radio dispatches in Ukraine, and draws ire of Russia.

From the New York Times:

"As Russia is trying to cut off the flow of information in Ukraine by attacking its communications infrastructure, the British news outlet BBC is revisiting a broadcasting tactic popularized during World War II: shortwave radio.

The BBC said this week that it would use radio frequencies that can travel for long distances and be accessible on portable radios to broadcast its World Service news in English for four hours a day in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, and in parts of Russia.

"It's often said truth is the first casualty of war," Tim Davie, director-general of the BBC, said in a statement. "In a conflict where disinformation and propaganda is rife, there is a clear need for factual and independent news people can trust."...

The Ruskies are getting frustrated.
