I bought a 342 PD years ago to replace my backup weapon. I carry it off and on while I work a desk, but love it still. I just put on the Crimson Trace grips, which are a nice addition and make it so much more comfortable.

I have not found anyone else who owns one of these. Has anyone had a bad experience with these guns. Mine is over 6 years old.

Welcome to the forum! I've got a pair of 342PD revolvers. One is an occasional carry gun, and the other is still NIB:

Crimson Trace grips work great with these guns. A 342 with LG-405 lasergrips is the best combination I've ever found for pocket carry.

I have a regular 342Ti prelock that I routinely carry. I always wanted a 342PD but could never find one. I did however find a NIB 337PD which is even lighter than the 342PD so I think I might have done even better!

Thanks for all the response. Mine is a little more rough around the edges than some of these beauties. Mine is a working gun though, so I'll just have to work around it.

I tried some of the S&W Classic Wood grips with a T-Grip[ adapter, and it looks SWEET. Unfortunately it was a royal pain (quite literally) to shoot, now the LG305's have solved that problem.

My Wife's has the same C/T's on hers.
I'll just bet that Tyler T hurt like Hell when shooting +P's!
Her's is still in super model condition after 8 years. Mine looks like my first wife's divorce lawyer.

My 342PD lives in a Bianchi pocket holster and is one of my primary carry guns. I load it with standard pressure Federal Nyclad HPs. The light weight is a major plus for me. I find the Hogue Bantam grip makes the gun unusually comfortable to shoot, for a .38 J-frame.

I am carrying the Gold Dot 135 gr +P for short barreled revolvers. It kicks a might, but I'll see how the new CT's work on it.

My only worry is what the lifespan is?

I've knocked the snot out of mine for 8 years. Looks like Hell, but still shoots better than I can, FWIW.
(BTW: Buffalo Bore 158 LSWCHP/GC +P)
Hmm? No wonder I have arthritis in both hands?

got the wifey one years ago. she has it every day. when i dust it off once in a while i'm always impressed with it.it gets a thumbs up
