the science of stupid

My dad was a cop and people were always coming to the house asking for advice when they got into trouble . My aunts second husband came by one evening with two black eyes and both sides of his head bruised . He asked my dad who would be a good attorney to sue the hyway patrol for police brutality. dad asked what happened . It seems he was drinking and driving down a country road when this young hyway patrol officer pulled him over .When he went to arrest him this fool took a swing at the officer who promptly and swiftly knocked him down brushing his eye and the right jaw and head then cuffed him and threw him in the backseat taking him to jail. Dad at this point asked well how did the other side of your head get banged up man? He said when he got half way straightened out he raised up in the back seat and told that young officer what he thought if him and he was lucky that he had sucker punched him that when he got the chance he was gonna give him a beating he wouldn't forget . He told dad that at that the crazy rascal but he didn't say rascal pulled over drug him out of the car unhandcuffed him and asked him was he ready. this unnamed uncle said yea I'm ready let's do it .At this the young officer commences beat down part two handcuffs him and throws him back into the car and takes him to jail. Dad said did he say anything to you . The guy said yea he told me I had the right to remain silent and he said I needed to use it.There are many many stories that I heard folks tell my dad thru the years and even at a young age I can remember thinking ,man I would never tell any one I was that dumb . I mean some things you just don't admit to .

There's a whole world of difference between educated and smart.
I've known a lot of highly educated people who didn't have sense enough to pour pee out of a boot with the instructions printed on the sole.
Just a few months ago I had a date with a woman who has two PHDs. It turned out that she had no common sense and a little common courtesy was beyond her understanding. It didn't work out.

A good education should teach you how little you know, but also how to learn. No/bad education simply allows good and bad notions to set in concrete, and a belief in the magical power of "common sense".

Stupid has made me a pretty good living be it direct (as in my clients doing stupid things) or indirect (as in people doing stupid things to my clients).
I love stupid.
Lest you think I am harsh-other professions do pretty well with stupid, like ER personnel. LEO's, First responders you get the drift. Cut out stupid and you cut out livelihood for a lot of people who would then have to make a living doing something else that contributes to society like building boats :D
