The ugliest gun on the face of the earth...

To me it is right up there in "ugliness" and right next to the Mauser C96 as far as looks & symmetry and are concerned.

I always thought the Mark VI .455 Webley was so ugly it was cool. So of course, I had to have one. I got real lucky in that I found this piece that didn't have the cylinder shaved.

I have one of the last commercial Webley 0.455's with a serial number that puts it close to the South African shipment around 1934-5. Not totally pristine due to what might have been an un-treated blood splash on one side, so a little corrosion. This was added to my collection of shaved 1917-18 0.455's that work well with an insert (obtained years ago from a member of this forum) for 0.455's or using 0.45 rimmed that are loaded to meet a roughly 650 fps setting. Also works in the 1924 Enfield (and before people scream!! Enfield made 0.455 Webleys from roughly 1919-1926). The dealer who sold me the 1934 0.455 had it listed as cheaper than two shaved 1917 Webleys (he did not know what he had) That is where a C&R Licence works well!! Dave_n

I have a few nominees -

Ah, the CZ 38. The mechanics of that pistol are pretty novel along with its looks.

I think the FP-45 Liberator might be the winner here but it's close!!! That Nambu is one plug ugly pistol!

FP-45 Liberator - Wikipedia
The Liberator was designed to be as cheap as possible and intended to fire only one shot. The idea was to use it to kill an enemy soldier and take his gun and ammunition.
The Nambu was the inspiration for the Ruger .22 semiauto pistol design.

I came across a strange looking little pistol at my local pawn shop. it had come from a police auction, shows wear, & had 4 notches cut in the grips (which I changed out). It is a model 1905, .32 caliber SAVAGE. It has an unusual art-deco ray gun look, & has no screws in it. I had never seen one in person, but it came with 3 magazines, & was cheap, so IT came home with me. After cleaning/digging out petrified grease - I found it shoots very well - Decided I love it, & a keeper. Wonderful little piece of USA history, & one of first double stack 10 shots. Recommended by: Bat Masterson, & Buffalo Bill Cody. WOW !

Not ugly…not beautiful either!

I was musing today on what gun I would pick as the world's ugliest. My vote would have to go to the Japanese type 94 Nambu pistol…

Don't you agree? :eek

When it comes to firearms, where others see "ugly" I usually see "eccentric," "unusual," "transitional," or "functional."

But after spending the past several days trying to come up with a single redeeming aesthetic feature…I've got nothing.

In fact, the more closely I look the more ugliness I see.

So, yes. I agree completely.

The ugliest handgun I've ever seen is the LeMatt Pinfire Cartridge Revolver.

The ugliest rifle I've ever seen is this Khyber Pass hybrid Martini Henry + M16A2...

The US M3 .45 cal Grease Gun wouldn't win any beauty contests but I have always wanted one.
I just got the honor of shooting a fully auto early model today. So cool but the complete lack of any recoil was kinda let down and suprising tbh.
