I think that with an HP as early as S1066xx, you are required (or is it encouraged) to post pictures.
Here is 4" S-1066xx, it shipped on May 11th, 1954. I want to disassemble/clean it before I take it to the range for a tryout. I just barely got the proprod done.
It's 6" companion is S-1185xx

28-3, S/N N578xxx. I'm guessing 1979, the same year Disco died.

I know it's been answered before, but what exactly is the little squiggly glyph stamped on the barrel? I've heard it was a Native American symbol, but I was wondering the context.

This is my model 28-2. Its had the original barrell replaced with a 3" and modified from a square butt to a round butt.

Had thought about having it re blued or chromed, but I really just like it the way it is.

While looking back over the posts, I finally noticed that I had not listed the serial # for my 28. Its N5471**. Can't believe that I was really considering having anything done to it.

I just received the factory letter for my Model 28-2 in the mail this morning. It was shipped from the factory on June 15, 1970 to Bostwick-Braun Inc., Toledo, OH.

Serial #N96xx

I love my Highway Patrolman. It's probably my 3rd Favorite revolver next to the Colt Official Police and Colt Detective Special.

It's a rugged hand cannon. Will shoot anything you want to put through it. The 6 inch barrel gives you the full power of any .38 Spl or .357 Magnum load. If you are a cop carrying one of these and don't have a baton or a night-stick...the Highway Patrolman barrel and cylinder will do juuuust fine.

My HP

The old gal was in with the smith for the past three weeks after 37 years of faithful service and thousands of rounds fired. If I remember correctly I puchased this one in 1973. Finally got her back and snapped these for inclusion.
