The ultimate Model 19/66 Combat Magnum thread

Picked up this 19-3 today after the 10 day wait in CA.

Pinned and recessed. Target grips, hammer, and trigger.

The trigger pull is excellent. I really wanted a 2 in or 4 in but this one is so nice, and I can't seem to find the shorter barrels locally.

Had to drive an hour each way twice to purchase and pickup!

I have two Model 19's left after selling one to a co-worker.

My favorite handgun I own. A 19-2 that was made within months of when I was born.

And a 19-5 with a set of awesome smooth RB targets. It was the grips that caught my attention, even more so than a 4inch RB. I expect that it started life as a 2.5inch, maybe someday I will letter it and see. ETA: I lettered it and it is a righteous 4inch RB. Sent to the State Department to be used by embassy guards.

19-3

2K164* Slightly cloudy in a few spots and swirl marks, light scratches, but I think I'll keep it. 8)
ETA: That's the last owners grip screw, new ones on the way from ebay.

Hard to believe but I acquired a 66 no dash, stainless sights, football smooth grips, no red ramp about a year ago for 150.00. Guy needed money, and i paid what he asked. Serial is 7K140XX. Will post pics when I can get off my camera. Some times your in the right place.

Reminds me of one of my husband's coworkers coming across a guy with a blue 6" barely fired 29-3, he said he just wanted enough to pay his electric bill, which was $200. Still jealous. :p

66-2 .357 Magnum 2 1/2

Another find, from a firearm hating lady. (Estate sale) AWU prefix serial #. Took it to the range, and very pleased. Had never shot, or handled one.And a box of Federal +P hollow-points with it!!

Just stumbled across this thread, and thought I'd share a pic of my only remaining 19. It's a 19-4 wearing a set of Ken Driskill;s awesome stag grips with an old Tyler T. Great handling and accurate too!

Mr Moderator: When I try to post a quick reply and Go Advanced so I
can post photos I get a bunch of previous photos instead. Is something
haywire or is it me?

Sorry to be so tardy, but here is my 2 cents worth before it's too late.
My S&W Model 19-4 P&R. Got it new back in the late 70s but don't
remember exactly when. It has the 4" barrel and is shown with Herrett's
Jordan Trooper walnut stocks. In 2006 I sent it in to S&W and had the
action slicked up. They also installed the partridge sight with the McGivern
gold bead. Continuing on left to right, it is shown with some favorite
leather:
Tauris Ranger by Mike Taurisano.
Black T3P style with dog ear by Oliver Ball.
Brill style by Mike Doc Barranti.
Seventrees by Paris Theodore.
