There’s just something about snub nose revolvers!

It’s hard to pick a favorite but this one is my 1948 (birth year) M&P. The second one is a 1964, I think, model 10. The M&P belonged to a Chicago police officer and was carried off duty. He sold it to a friend of mine in 1960 and then was sold to me a few years ago.

The M10 appears to have spent most of its life in a sock drawer. I doubt there had been a box fired through it.

I think my love for snub nose was inspired by Joe Friday. I used to love Dragnet, Peter Gunn Mr Lucky. Basically I loved about any detective show or western of the 50’s and 60’s.

A couple more snub nose.

The first is a recently acquired Centennial M40, second a 3rd version Detective Special, third is my dads 66-2 and last is an M32-1 Terrier in 38 S&W.

Funny thing, I’ve never owned a model 36 or 60. I’ve had two m37’s and a 649 but neither currently. I’ve had several opportunities on 36’s and passed on a 3” 60 Target no dash and really regret letting that one get away.

Here are some J-frame snubbies. My addiction started with the one in the center that shipped August 24, 1951, my birth year. The others grew around it. This is about half of the clan - I need to update the family picture.

I like them too! I have a couple, but only two are S&W. I also have two 3" 36-1's. I have a Charter Arms Bulldog 44 Spcl, CA Lightweight, Taurus Stainless 85, S&W 36 and a S&W 19-5 2 1/2" I'll have to post next.

Yep, as the OP said at the beginning "There’s just something about snub nose revolvers!"

And for those that like the 'smallest .38 handgun', (.38 S&W) here are some of the ones in my stable. Again, I need to update the family photos.
Here's a grouping of the ".38 S&W Terrier".

Had this one for a while. Saw it at the LGS and bought it. It started life in 1916 as a Colt New Service in .455, was military issue. At some point the barrel was cut down to 2 inches and rechambered to .45 Colt. Toyed with it a while and then something else struck my fancy. It is a cannon and everyone knows when you trip the trigger! Sold it for more than I paid for it, so was happy.

Thanks to forum classifieds and member dfrazier my 686-4 snub is sporting new VZ grips. They feel great. They are the tactical diamond ones but don’t feel that agressive. Can’t wait to shoot with them.

The shortest barreled factory N frames I've owned were 3" 29-4 and some 24-3's...I have several 3 1/2" factory N frames at the moment including .357's and one .44 Spl......Ben

Never owned a short N frame. I think all of mine are 4”.
