They did this in 2017

Just read the notes on the 2017 propsal. Seems to be a bill to strengthen the NICS system requiring federal agencies to provide more information re. "...disqualifying records of persons prohibited from receiving or possessing a firearm..." and "...upload felony conviction and domestic violence records."

Now I am saying this with a huge caveat (I don't trust what the end product will be or how it will be implemented) but what is the concern?

Personally support any appropriate legislation that will actually work to prevent/stop criminals from buying guns of any sort. Do note ... criminals. Taking action without due process using bypassing the protection of personal civil rights guaranteed in the COTUS does not meet that standard of appropriate legislation regardless of the excuses offered. Sincerely. bruce.

How is that supposed to work? In reality they are criminals. They don't obey the law and rules. It's against the law to murder, rape, steal, rob, etc. Why would a criminal that is doing something that is against the law be concerned about a law that states he shouldn't have a gun? Criminals can set up machine shops to make guns. They can steal guns from legal owners.
More laws and rules only make it more difficult for good guys. Larry

I was just wondering why they are doing it again? We'll have to wait to see how the new law changes from their 2017 version.
