Thanks to the Good Lord Above ! I am down to my last 1/2 box of the chocolate mint cookies . I buy them , put them in the freezer , and allow myself some a little at a time . My wife gets mad cause I buy so many boxes but I tell her I'm sending some little girl to camp . Probably flying her first class .
When I had by coonhounds they loved the Trefoils, but since they're gone now and I don't need the cookies, last year they had an option where you could donate to send cookies to the troops.
We had doctors appointments in town this morning and when we were done we had lunch at the Cracker Barrel. I stopped and looked at the old time candy on the spindle rack. When I left I had some malted milk balls, circus peanuts, root beer barrels and chocolate covered peanuts and chick o sticks. A tidy little assortment of munchies and crunchies. All those old timey candies remind me of the Saturday morning matinee at the old Capitan Theater. Started about 11:00 AM and lasted till about 4:00 PM. cartoons, serial adventures and 2 or 3 feature films.
It was 10 cents to get in and most candies, drinks and pop corn were either 5 cents or 10 cents depending on the size. I was always able to burn up 50 cents with out much effort.
